Start a Collection

You can be a traditionalist and gather stamps, coins, or baseball cards, or you can go far beyond the boundaries of convention and collect wild, outlandish things.
The possibilities are endless. You can collect political buttons and/or bumper stickers, coffee mugs, Walt Disney characters, paper clips. Anything will do.

See how many varieties of business cards there are. Matchbooks from restaurants are always a good idea. Things come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. How about collecting shoehorns, felt-tipped pens, frogs? Creativity is working within a certain form to create new content. But sometimes the form is so dramatic that it becomes the content as well.

Wine labels do the job. You don’t even have to drink the wine. The value of starting a collection becomes clear later on, when you measure the progress of your creation by tiny incremental changes that at first appear almost imperceptible. But over time, you’ll find your collection has changed. It is no longer one or two motley items, but something quite grand.
