Cat5e patch cable is sort of UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable which has the highest compatibility and mostly recommended for computer networks connection and also for other signal carrier. The series of number, 5e, shows that the patch cable is developed from previous generation, the Cat5. Cat5e is enhanced with insulator which functions to reduce induction effect or electromagnetic interference, which doesn’t exist in Cat5.
